Charming Studio Balboa Park W/D

Excellent home away from home Positive: It’s the perfect location for someone who needs all the comforts of home away from home. I wish I could have stayed longer, but there were other bookings. My only suggestion to improve the space would be to charge all the fees upfront as opposed to after the fact. It makes it feel a little nickel and dime as opposed to transparent and direct. Otherwise, it met, I’ll be and exceeded all expectations. The hosts were responsive and supportive throughout. The neighbourhood is walkable and great for all needs. Negative: The additional charges after the reservation was made were disheartening. There was also a charge by the hour for early arrival, when there wasn’t anyone booked before me so it looked like it would have been ready and available. Travelling is stressful enough so giving a little support on simple conveniences that would not inconvenience someone goes a long way. None of this takes away from the excellence the property offered or my stay experience. Thankfully, the hotel I was at prior to arrival allowed me a very late checkout so I was not stuck for hours without a place to go.

Positive: The apartment was very nice, very clean. The bed is very comfortable & I slept really well. It's a nice neighborhood. John was very accessible. Everything went well. I was very happy with the place, & I would stay here again.

Remodeled apartment in South Park Positive: This place has everything you need for a short or long term stay. There are also considerate touches like a tampon supply and an extra roll of paper towels. The location is great, in South Park, within half a mile from restaurants, bars, and Target! It's also only a few blocks from Grape St dog park, and my doggie was welcome to stay. Check in was easy, and communication with the host was clear and very prompt. Negative: There are chickens that live across the street, and every morning between 630-7am, they would like you to know they're awake. This sets off the crows. The noise is ok with the windows closed, but it was disappointing not to be able to enjoy the breeze while sleeping. However, nearly the rest of downtown SD is on the airport flight path, so pick your poison - muffled squawks for 30 min or plane noise. Street parking is manageable, but there is a little bit of neighbor parking wars going on. There were minor maintenance issues promptly addressed with the host.

Very comfortable stay with excellent hospitality. Positive: The apartment is located in a very pleasant neighbourhood and is equipped with everything you need. The check-in process was smooth, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating of special requests. I would definitely stay there again. Negative: NA
